Explore China’s famous mountains

Spring is an ideal time to climb mountains in China, with warm weather and lush vegetation. For hikers who want to explore some famous mountains and experience Chinese history and culture, the Shenzhen Daily features some destination peaks in the articles Explore China’s famous mountains and Explore China’s famous mountains (II). I visited one of these peaks, the spectacular Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), during my trip to Henan, Anhui, and Zhejiang Provinces in 2009.

Tai’er Zhuang Ancient Town

Tai’er Zhuang, a city in Shandong Province, is renowned for a successful campaign against the Japanese invaders in 1938. Now the city has a new tourism attraction – an Ancient Town. The Town has so far created 80,000 jobs and has helped raise the city from the least economically-active to the second most active one in the Province. Royal tomb discovered in Shandong

A large Western Han Dynasty royal tomb has been discovered recently in Heze City of Shandong Province. Archeologists have concluded that there is a good chance that the tomb belongs to one of the princes in the Western Han Dynasty living some 2000 years ago.
